Annual Nature Fest
The Lake Louisa State Park Nature Fest is an annual event designed to create awareness about Florida’s natural and cultural heritage. Exhibitors from all over Central Florida provide information, demonstrations and activities about environmental issues, outdoor recreation, wildlife, native plants and much more.
Nature Festincludes lots of activities for both adults and children, so this is an event the whole family can enjoy. Our 2009 event included bird, nature and butterfly walks, demonstrations on the art of Stone Age flint knapping, rain barrels, and pine straw baskets, information on efforts to save the Florida Scrub Jay, and a live history interpretation about Southeast Native American History by Jimmy Sawgrass. Field Day visitors also enjoyed trying out the park canoes and the beautiful Lake Louisa beach.
Our 7th annual Nature Fest will be held on May 15, 2010
