It’s time again to start planning for the fall Friends of Lake Louisa Obstacle Trail Challenge and Spooky Horse Halloween costume contest. By popular request, this year’s theme will be a Haunted Halloween, with 10 obstacles set over approximately 6 miles of the parks beautiful equestrian trails.  Horses and riders will be judged on how well they negotiate each obstacle.  There will be one timed obstacle that is designated as a tie breaker.  Awards will be presented at the end of the event in 4 categories, Senior, Adult, Junior, and Youth.

We will again be holding the “Lead Line Challenge” which consists of several ground skill horsemanship challenges at the end of a lead rope. This will be held throughout the day so that anyone who wishes to participate will have a chance. Awards will be presented to the top contestants.

AND there will be our second “Spooky Horse” Halloween costume contest.

Awards will be presented to the scariest horse, the scariest horse and rider, the cutest horse, the cutest horse and rider, the most creative horse and the most creative horse and rider costumes. If you plan on entering the costume contest please plan on riding the obstacle course early.  Judging for the contest starts at 1:00 and you will want to allow time to get your costumes on.

There will be a food concession stand sponsored by the “Bath & Bridles” 4-H club, serving coffee in the morning and lunch in the afternoon.
